If your Database Driven website is on software you downloaded from the web, i.e. a CMS like Joomla or Drupal, or e-commerce software like OsCommerce, there may already be a plug-in to do exactly that. If your site is completely custom, then you will need to rewrite the URLs. If you are using Linux with Apache, look into using mod_rewrite looks like a good tutorial).
