what are good tools for keyword research?

I use Good Keywords (http://www.goodkeywords.com) which is a downloadable tool, the AdSense keywords research tool (https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal ) and a search engine.

Good Keywords is great for brainstorming keyword combinations. AdSense is useful to get lateral ideas that are being sponsored by people paying for PPC campaigns.

The search engine will tell you what the competition (number of competing sites) for your keyword phrase is.

You do need all three to work together to give you the edge…
